Janohah

Janohah

Janohah means "he rests" in Hebrew.

In the Bible, Janohah is a town mentioned in Joshua 16:6 and 16:7, giving the northern border of the Tribe of Ephraim "the border went about eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janohah; And it went down from Janohah to Ataroth."

Another Janohah is mentioned in 2 Kings 15:29: "came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, ..."

The site of Janohah is thought by some to be Khirbet Janun, but this is disputed.
