Hawnby

Hawnby is a small crossroads village and civil parish in the English county of North Yorkshire. It is located some seven miles northwest of Helmsley.

Hawnby was cut off in the flash floods of June 2005, with the bridges having been washed away. A lady who suffered a heart attack had to be air-lifted to safety [ [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_yorkshire/4109692.stm BBC Report] ] .
