The station began life in
1984 as KDDR-FM on 92.3 FM inOakes, North Dakota . In1992 , the station later moved to 92.7 FM, and changed itscity of license toKindred, North Dakota to serve the nearbyFargo-Moorhead area, and changed thecall sign to KSSZ to reflect its flip to acontemporary hit radio format as "92.7 Kiss FM". KSSZ flipped to acontemporary Christian music format as "The Point", and changed its call sign to KPHT in1995 .The station became KULW with an
oldies format as "Kool 92.7" in1999 , and sold toClear Channel Communications in2000 . In 2001, it changed to "B93" with acountry music format, with the call sign KFAB-FM. B93 tweaked towards aclassic country format along with changing its name to "Outlaw Country" in 2003. KFAB-FM became Fargo'sAdult Hits outlet (also known as "Jack") with the "My FM" moniker. The format only lasted five months from May to October in 2005 before reverting back to their previous format as "Outlaw Country".KFAB-FM's owner at the time,
Clear Channel Communications , sold its Fargo stations toJames Ingstad 's "Radio Fargo-Moorhead, Inc." onJanuary 19 ,2007 . KFAB-FM was transferred to Northwestern College, forWDAY-FM 's use ofKFNW-FM 's tower and theFCC ownership limit of the Fargo market was 6 stations, though Clear Channel grandfathered KDAM, the 7th station.KFAB-FM signed off the air on
January 19 ,2007 transitioning ownership fromClear Channel Communications (now "Radio Fargo-Moorhead, Inc.") to Northwestern College, and signed on as KFNL "Legacy 92.7" with anadult standards format onFebruary 5 ,2007 . Since then it has switched to an adult contemporary Christian format concentrating on praise and worship music.External links
