Frederick Luis Aldama (born 1969) is Professor of English and Comparative Studies at
The Ohio State University , where he teaches Latino/a andPost-colonial literature , film, and comics, as well as narrative theory and cognitive science.Aldama obtained his
Ph.D. fromStanford University in 1999. MLA -award winning "Dancing With Ghosts: A Critical Biography of Arturo Islas". His latest book, published in 2008, is "Why the Humanities Matter: A Common Sense Approach". Along withPatrick Colm Hogan andArturo Aldama , he is series editor of "Cognitive Approaches to Literature and Culture" with the University of Texas Press. He sits on the editorial boards of "Narrative", "Journal of Narrative Theory" and "Narrative & Image".
