The 3D Gamemaker

The 3D Gamemaker is a computer application developed by The Game Creators that allows users to make basic shooter/adventure games for Microsoft Windows. Programming and art skills are not required to develop Gamemaker games, but developers may optionally add custom media to their games using the DarkBASIC programming language.

The 3D Gamemaker does not encourage one-theme game making, but encourages mixing different themes to make a game that's unique and fun to play.

Games developed with 3D Gamemaker require at least 400 MHz Pentium processor, 64 MB of RAM and DirectX 7.0b to run.

Features

The 3D gamemaker has a built in placement editor that allows the user to indicate where enemies, items, and obstacles go. this is not available in beginner mode or the lite edition. There is also, amongst other things, a simple level creator. Also, there's the ability to upload your own media.

Themes

The 3D Gamemaker has 8 different themes to choose from.

* Shooter: Basic first-person shooter games. Most of the Shooter theme scenes are either from Middle ages or Modern times. Only one gun is available when using this theme.
* Horror: Scary objects and settings in a 3rd person game.
* War: 3rd person objects with World War or Futuristic settings
* Space: resembles the Star Wars Universe with space racers in 3rd person.
* Driving: race tracks and vehicles for making car racing games. Many cars are available in the theme, including a De Lorean DMC-12.
* Jungle: A theme for making games in settings such as jungles and tombs.
* Cartoon: These games are set inside a large house, with small characters. Most of the player and enemy objects are action figures.
* Silly: Similar to Cartoon but with outdoor scenes and 'toy' characters and objects. There is a walking Tomato in both the Cartoon theme and the Silly theme.

Lite Edition

The 3D gamemaker also released a Lite edition which had less possibilities. there was only Shooter, Space, Driving and Silly, all players, items, and enemies were kept, and the missing scenes were marked with an 'H' in the full edition. The jungle theme only used the cavern scenes and tomb scenes. and no level maker or placement editor.Both versions of the game cannot be downloaded onto your computer without a disk and currently there is no free trial out.
