Shepherd's Bush station is a new railway station on the West London Line of the London Overground network, opened on 28 September 2008. It provides an interchange with the nearby Shepherd's Bush Central line tube station. There was a previous station on this line very close to this site, Uxbridge Road, which closed in 1940.

The station has been built as part of the White City redevelopment and was designed and funded by the Westfield Group, the developers of the adjacent shopping complex. Construction of the station began in early 2006 and it was due to open in summer 2007 [cite press release | title =White City Development | publisher =Transport for London | date =2007-08-01 | url =http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/white-city-development.pdf | format=pdf | accessdate =2007-10-28] . Although largely completed on time, the station was unable to open due to the northbound platform being too narrow. The three-letter station code SPB and location code 9587 appear on ticketing systems, and train times for the station began appearing on timetables from May 2007 [Citation | last =Silverlink | title =Current Timetables: Sunday 20 May to 8 December 2007 | url=http://www.silverlink-trains.com/templates/Timetables.aspx?id=21 | accessdate = 2007-10-28] .

Shepherd's Bush Hammersmith & City line tube station, which is 500 metres away, was renamed "Shepherd's Bush Market" in 2008 to avoid confusion [cite press release| title =Wood Lane and Shepherd's Bush Market to join Tube map | publisher =Transport for London | date =2006-11-06 | url =http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/newscentre/3451.aspx | accessdate =2007-10-28] .
