Scott Shields (b.
November 26 1969 inGlasgow ) is a Scottish musician and producer, best known as a member ofJoe Strummer 's backing bandThe Mescaleros .Biography
Scott Shields first band was GUN in which he was the drummer. Following the departure of
Baby Stafford from GUN, Scott joined up with his former band mate, as drummer and producer for Staffords new band, Raindog. Due to the existence of another band of the same name, it was decided to adopt the name of 'Baby Stafford'. The band went on to release the E.P. "Paper Love Maker " in 1994 which Shields produced. In the mid nineties Scott formed Bond where he joined forces withMartin Slattery . In early 1999 he joinedJoe Strummer & The Mescaleros originally on bass and later moved to the guitar. Scott was with The Mescaleros until Joe Strummer's untimely death in December 2002. He co-wrote numerous songs on "Global a Go-Go " and "Streetcore ". Scott also co-produced both albums with Martin Slattery before going on to produce albums for Paul Heaton(Beautiful South), The Miniatures and The Marble Index.Recent work
Scott has produced and written tracks and score for numerous film soundtracks like "", "
