Washington State Liquor Control Board

The Washington State Liquor Control Board is an agency of the state of Washington that regulates, and maintains a monopoly on the sale of distilled liquors in the state.

The Board's Retail and Product Services Division operates a statewide sales network of liquor stores, and sells products to a number of privately-owned stores.

The Education and Enforcement Division enforces the applicable laws relating to taxation of tobacco and alcohol, and operates the Board's alcohol-awareness and anti-underage drinking programs.

The Licensing and Regulation Division issues liquor licenses, which numbered 14,604 in fiscal year 2006. The Division also manages the Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) program.
