McClellan won the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, with George H. Pendleton as his Vice Presidential candidate.]Unsuccessful candidates for the presidential nomination were Thomas H. Seymour of Connecticut, Horatio Seymour of New York and Charles O'Conor of New York.
