public high school in Freehold Township,New Jersey . It is a part of theMonmouth County Vocational School District . The school opened in September 2005 and consisted exclusively of an initial freshman class of 60 students, eight teachers, and two other faculty members. It now has a new freshman class, which will graduate in 2012. Seven teachers and a guidance counselor have since been hired to support the incoming freshman classes.The student body has since expanded to contain a senior class. It is also temporarily housing theMCVSD Law Enforcement Program . The school has chartered an FFA chapter, however due to lack of participation the chapter is omitted. It has a rigorous science course which consists of eight different science classes over the four years of its curriculum. The Academy is a selective school and will only take those who test highest in the fields of:
* 7th Grade Subjects
* 8th Grade First marking period subjects
* Grade of acceptance exam, normally held in January or February, after applications to school are submitted
* To get into Geometry, students must test out of Algebra I
* To get into Spanish II, students must test out of Spanish IClasses
Biotechnology offers an array of classes over four years. Every year students are required to take Spanish, History, English, Math, and Biology. Also for Freshman and Sophmores are required to take part in Fitness and Health. Unlike other MCVSD schools, Biotechnology requires you know Algebra 1 by the time Freshman year starts. If the student never took Algebra 1 in Middle School then they are required to take it over the summer between 8th and 9th grade. Algebra 1 is taught at Biotechnology, but the parents are required to take the students to these classes. Chemistry is taken by all freshmen in 9th Grade and Physics is taken by all Sophomores in 10th grade. For 11th and 12th grade, Students are required to take either Chemistry or Physics for both years. In 11th and 12th grade Students are forced to take IB and the classes associated with it.
