Free bording

Free bording

Free Bording is a brand new sport much like a mix of skateboarding and snowboarding. It was created for snowboarders who suffered snow withdrawal during the summer. A freebord consists of a longer skateboard deck and wider than usual trucks. There is a central swiveling wheel on the middle of each truck to simulate the sliding of a snowboard.

History

The Freebord was designed and created by a team out of California. The masterminds of this project are Tim Seward, Mike Hoppe, John Laudin, Dave O'Grady, and Michael Rogers. There are also 3 more international team members: Bryce Lister and Samuel Bryant from Melbourne AU, and Joe Lawry from Auckland NZ. Freebording is gradually becoming known all over the world. Freebording is a sport expected to take off in popularity in the future among snowboard enthusiasts.
