Timeline of web browsers

A time line of web browsers from the early 1990s to the present. Prior to browsers, many technologies and systems existed for information viewing and transmission.

1994–present

The following table chronicles the major release dates since 1994 for the more popular web browsers. For a history of earlier web browsers, including WorldWideWeb, ViolaWWW and Mosaic, see the web browser article.
