Farmer has a B.A. with a minor in psychology, a J.D. and is the CEO of Total Life Success, a self development company based in Seattle, Washington.

Farmer is recognized as being in a similar vien as other stylized self-help gurus such as Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, and Wayne Dyer.

Philosophy and Ideas

Among the techniques Farmer teaches are the following:
* Asking specific questions to direct one's attention to aspects of human experience that create a more favorable psychology.
* Beginning to work on change, even before the definition of "success" and the plan are solidified.
* Interrupting one's limiting pattern by testing reality.
* Goal-setting, Visualization and Manifestation.
* Creating a "Compelling life".

Quotes

"Don't fear that one day you'll fail and the masquerade will fall and you'll be exposed for a phony. One day the masquerade will fall, and you'll be exposed for the success you were all along. You are powerful beyond measure. Don't hide it."

"TRUST your ideas. Take immediate action on them, do not let them 'sit.'Make the question 'HOW will I succeed?', NOT 'WILL this succeed?'Know where you are. Know where you want to get to. And JUST TAKE THE NEXT STEP.Be incredibly reluctant to give up or give in. Do so only for one reason: if you KNOW that you are going in the wrong direction and no longer want what you once did.Although it's okay to 'look for' the opportunities, do not WAIT for them. MAKE them.Trust YOUR greatness."
