It was written by McCartney and originally recorded during the sessions for what became The Beatles' "Let it Be " album (1970 ). McCartney later re-recorded the song and included the new version on "McCartney", released in April 1970. The Beatles recorded the song a number of times inJanuary 1969 , at their Apple Studios inLondon . A composite version made of two of these recordings was released in1996 on the "Anthology 3 " album. "Teddy Boy", tells the story of young boy whose mother tells him to be good. His mother then tells him about his father in the war and she starts to get upset and cries. Later, she gets a husband and Teddy Boy runs away because he can't take it anymore, but eventually returns to his mother.
