Bruce Weber (administrator)

Bruce Weber (administrator)

Bruce Weber (1951 in Port Adelaide, South Australia – 13 April 2006 in Jakarta, Indonesia) was a former Australian rules football administrator.

He is notable for his stint as president of the Port Adelaide Football Club from 1986-1992. In this time, he led a charge for the SANFL club to receive a licence in the Australian Football League. In 1990 this move almost came to fruition but for the formation of a new South Australian club, the Adelaide Football Club, to receive the licence and enter the AFL in 1991.

Weber was succeeded by Greg Boulton as president/chairman in 1993, with the Port Adelaide Football Club eventually entering the AFL in 1997. It is considered that Weber's initial vision during his time as president led to this outcome.
