Jami Bernard

Jami Bernard

Jami Bernard (born on August 10, 1956) is an author and award-winning film critic. She has written for the "New York Post" and the "New York Daily News". She has also appeared in films as herself. She is a frequent guest on the radio on talk shows like "Lynn Samuels" on Satellite Radio.

Family

Bernard is the granddaughter of immigrants from Białystok, Poland and was raised in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York.

Education

Bernard graduated from Barnard College in 1978.

Books

Bernard has written 7 books including: "The Incredible Shrinking Critic," "Chick Flicks", "Total Exposure", "First Films", "Quentin Tarantino: The Man and His Movies" and "Breast Cancer: There and Back".

Career

Bernard is a member and former chair of the New York Film Critics Circle, and a member of the National Society of Film Critics [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1020031/bio] .

Breast cancer advocate

Bernard is a survivor of breast cancer and a breast cancer advocate who wrote a book about her experience - "Breast Cancer: There and Back" - and writes a regular column for "MAMM" magazine, the magazine for women with cancer [http://www.jamibernard.com/mamm_index.html] .
