Wisdom Mumba Chansa (
April 17 ,1964 -April 28 ,1993 ) was a football player who began his career in the youth team atZambian club side Rokana United before moving to their city rivalsPower Dynamos FC . Rokana's loss was Dynamos' gain as he soon established himself in the great Power Dynamos side of the eighties. He first played as an out-and-outstriker before he adapted himself to a deeper lying role as second striker. During his captaincy, Power Dynamos became the first Zambian club side to win a continental cup when they beatNigeria 'sBCC Lions in the 1991African Cup Winners' Cup final over two legs.Chansa made his international debut at junior level when he was instrumental in the Zambia's cup success in the regional U-20
COSAFA Cup in 1983. From 1985 to 1993, he was a permanent feature in the Zambian side until his death onApril 28 1993 in the air crash off the coast ofGabon that killed 18 players of the national team. Prior to his death he played briefly inSouth Africa for Dynamos. He was nicknamed "Wiz" because he was a "Wiz" when it came to ball shielding and strength.
