- Cedar Crest Park
Cedar Crest Park, formerly Cedar Crest Country Club, is a public
golf course inDallas ,Texas ,USA .The course was designed by
A. W. Tillinghast and was the site of the 1927PGA Championship won by Sir Walter Hagan. Many refer to Cedar Crest as C4 (Cedar Crest Country Club). At one point in time, it was referred to as "the most beautiful place on earth."
C4 is famous for many of its characteristics. Some of these include:
-The 10th hole, known by many to be the greatest hole in golf.-The stretch of holes 8-10, known by many as "Hail Mary Corner". Legend has it that Augusta National copied their "Amen Corner" slogan off of this.-The 9th tee box, where, across the street, one can read on a garage, "please STAY OUT THIS YARD".
C4 took a dramatic turn in 2007 with the ousting of legend Leonard Jones. This was a sad day for the City of Dallas and the game of golf. Injustice is the only word that can describe this.
