Hector Puebla is one the biggest idols of Chilean
soccer clubCobreloa , he played for the team for 16 years, and he's the most well-known player in Cobreloa's history amongst the fans. He has also won the most titles with the team, and survived all the tactical changes, formations, and team exclusions implied by different coaches.Nicknamed "El Ligua" after his birthplace, he came to Cobreloa in the year 1980 from southern Chilean soccer team Lota Schwager, where he played as a
striker , and slowly got moved back to become the heroic central defender he became playing for Cobreloa.He also played many games for the national squad, but his most memorable was the game againstArgentina in theCopa America of 1989, where he annulled the world's topDiego Maradona , and was later given his jersey by the man himself.
