genus ofdinosaur from theLate Triassic . Named by E.E. Kischlat in 1999, little is currently known about this genus; thetype species , "T. barbarenai", was named from leg bones (afemur and atibia ) discovered inBrazil , and is named in honor of Dr. M.C. Barberena, a South American paleontologist. "Teyuwasu" means "big lizard" in theTupi language . Theholotype is held atLudwig Maximilians University of Munich .The remains of "Teyuwasu" were originally attributed by
Friedrich von Huene in 1938 to theaetosaur "Hoplitosuchus ".References
