Bolton High School is a high school(grades 9-12) located in unincorporated Shelby County, Tennessee that is part of the Shelby County school system. The school mascot is the Wildcat. The school is located northwest of the city of Arlington.

History

The current Bolton High School campus exists on the former Hoboken Plantation owned by Wade H. Bolton. Upon his death in 1869, the prominent land owner set aside convert|1200|acre|km2|0 for the founding of an agricultural college. Bolton operated as an agricultural college and teacher's preparatory school from 1887 to 1911, whereupon it became part of the Shelby County School system. By 1925, Bolton had been designated as a secondary school and has remained a part of the Shelby County school system ever since. In 2003, the largest freshman class in Bolton's history enrolled. With approximately 700 students, give or take a few, this class hastened the opening of Arlington High School. The seniors of the Class of 2007 graduated in May with over 600 in the class.
