Political parties in Samoa lists political parties in Samoa. As of 2007, Samoa has one officially-recognized political party, the ruling Human Rights Protection Party [ [http://www.pacificislands.cc/issue/2007/01/01/government-briefs Government Briefs jan/feb 2007] , "Pacific Magazine".] .
On 27 April 2008, twelve independent MPs including most of the former members of the Samoan Democratic United Party and two former members of the Human Rights Protection Party announced the formation of a new political party [ [http://www.rnzi.com/pages/news.php?op=read&id=39393 Independent MPs in Samoa to form a new political party] , "Radio New Zealand International", 27 April 2008] . On July 14, it was announced that the party would be called the Tautua Samoa Party. Its leader is yet to be decided.
