March 27 ,1883 , Doubravice nad Svitavou-September 11 ,1976 ,Brno ) was a Czech composer, pedagogue and writer.Life
He was a pupil of Czech composer
Leoš Janáček in teacher's institution (1898-1902) and organ school (1902-1903). He studied composition withVítězslav Novák from 1905 to 1906. During the years 1919-1945, he was a professor at Brno's conservatory and from 1923 to 1945 he was the director of this institution.Selected works
