Rene Tongson

Rene Tongson is a Filipino martial artist and head of the International Modern Arnis Federation, Philippines (IMAFP).

He is a member of the Modern Arnis Senior Masters Council and one of a handful of Modern Arnis practitioners worldwide to be promoted to Lakan Walo (8th degree black belt) by the Remy Presas.

Rene founded his own system, Tres Puntas, as inheritor of Mateo D. Estolloso’s Abaniko Tres Puntas Estilo. As a traditionalist, Rene is known for his fluidity and grace in classical arnis. His students include Bambit Dulay, Dieter Knuttel, Edessa Ramos and many other arnis teachers in the Philippines and other parts of the world.
