Ammar Nakshawani, born 1981, is an English-speaking Muslim lecturer.

Biography

Ammar Nakshawani, the grandson of the late Sayed Mortadha Nakshawani, representative and secretary of Grand Ayatollah Abul-Qassim Khoei in Najaf, was born in 1981 and migrated to England in 1987.

He was awarded with a degree in psychology and law from University College London. Having completed a one year course in `Political Change in Modern Britain’ at LSE, Ammar completed his MA in 2005.

Ammar began lecturing at the age of 19. As well as having lectured around the United Kingdom, within the past 3 years he has spoken in Australia, Canada, the USA, throughout Europe, Dubai and across Africa in the holy months of Muharram and Ramadhan.Ammar has not studied in any traditional Islamic seminary, Hawza, but has studied Islam for one year at the Islamic College for Advanced Studies (ICAS) in London. He is a self taught lecturer who has studied with the aid of printed material.

He undertook an MA at ICAS under Dr.Jasim Hussain. His thesis was an analysis of Bewley's book on Muawiyah ibn Abi-Sufyan.

He is currently studying and teaching for his PhD in Islamic studies at Exeter University. Meanwhile he continues to give lectures in English at events and occasions around the world.
