Screech note

Screech note

Screech notes are a variety of unmusical notes created (usually unintentionally) on woodwind instruments. They occur when a player does not fully press down on one of the holes of a woodwind instrument, or blows too hard on an instrument such as a tin whistle. The effect is that an ugly screeching sound is created.
