Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is a Christian church located near the boundary between the cities of Costa Mesa, California and Santa Ana, California. Its postal address reads Santa Ana as the city. It is the original Calvary Chapel from the "tent days", and was founded in 1965 by Chuck Smith who is still the senior pastor of the church. It is considered a megachurch as it is said 35,000 people attend the church as of 2006, however on the list of 100 Largest Churches in America by Outreach Magazine, it is only 9,500 [http://www.outreachmagazine.com/docs/top100_2007_largest.pdf] , making it the 39th largest in America.
