Syriatel ( _ar. سيريتيل) is a privately owned
telecommunication company founded in2000 . Today it controls 55% of the total market share.Current Operator Numbers owned by
Syriatel are 092, 093, 098, and 099, whereas current Operator Numbers owned byMTN Syria (the competitor of Syriatel) are 094, 095, 096, and 097.Expanding Network
In order to expand network capacity by increasing numbers of customers, Syriatel changed mobile numbers as follows:
* 092 - (MobileNumber) → 093 - 2+(MobileNumber).
* 093 - (MobileNumber) → 093 - 3+(MobileNumber).
* 098 - (MobileNumber) → 098 - 8+(MobileNumber).
* 099 - (MobileNumber) → 099 - 9+(MobileNumber).
* 099 - (MobileNumber) → 099 - 8+(MobileNumber).MobileNumber is 6 numbers, but in expanded network will be 7 numbers.These changes will take effect on April 10 2007, where as old numbers will still be working till May 31 2007.Syriatel Add New service called 3,5G ,internet service ,depended on HUAWEI E220.the cost of this service is:
* 1 Gigabyte costs 32 USD.
* 3 Gigabytes cost 65 USD.
* 5 Gigabytes cost 98 USD.which is very expensive compared to the costs in the neighbor countries.
