John William Woolf

John William Woolf

John William Woolf (born: November 27, 1869 - died: February 22, 1950) was a politician from Northwest Territories and later Alberta, Canada.

Early life

John was born in Logan Cache, Utah in 1869.

Political career

John served in the Legislative Assembly of Northwest Territories from 1902 to 1905 as a member of the Northwest Territories Liberal Party and served in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the Alberta Liberal Party from 1905 to 1912, when he resigned to move to the United States.cite book|title=Chief mountain country : a history of Cardston and district|publisher=Cardston and District Historical Society|pages=524|last=Shaw|first=Keith] He was instrumental in getting the first grain elevators set up, and brought the plight of southern Alberta farmers to the legislature.

Late life

He died in 1950 at Salt Lake City, Utah.
