Utah in 1869.Political career
John served in the
Legislative Assembly of Northwest Territories from 1902 to 1905 as a member of theNorthwest Territories Liberal Party and served in theLegislative Assembly of Alberta for theAlberta Liberal Party from 1905 to 1912, when he resigned to move to theUnited States .cite book|title=Chief mountain country : a history of Cardston and district|publisher=Cardston and District Historical Society|pages=524|last=Shaw|first=Keith] He was instrumental in getting the first grain elevators set up, and brought the plight of southern Alberta farmers to the legislature.Late life
He died in 1950 at
