Tyndall Forum

Tyndall Forum

The Tyndall Forum is an environmental science and opinion former debating group named after the scientist John Tyndall.

It was formed in the UK with the collaboration of The Royal Institution of Great Britain, the UK Department for the Environment (DETR) and The ERM Group Inc. (an environmental consultancy). The Forum aims to bring together government, industry and non-governmental institutions to discuss debate and query the scientific background to a range of topical environmental issues.

Previous meetings have covered health effects of air pollution, climate change, Genetically modified organisms, noise pollution and the health effects of electromagnetic waves from mobile telephones.

Discussions at the Forum take place under the Chatham House Rule, which helps to aid free discussion on the controversial topics under debate by forbidding attribution of the comments to the speaker.
