His first film was "
Dorian Blues ", and his second, "The Skeptic", was filmed inSaratoga Springs, New York . His third feature, "June Wedding", a comedy/drama will be shot in 2008.Tennyson Bardwell’s debut film Dorian Blues, made on a shoe string budget was one of the most decorated independent films in 2004, winning 14 festival awards:Dorian Blues had its World Premiere at Cinequest 2004 where it won the AUDIENCE AWARD and the EMERGING MAVERICK DIRECTOR'S AWARD. Dorian Blues also won the AUDIENCE AWARD at the Lake Placid Film Festival 2004, and the BEST SCREENPLAY FEATURE AWARD, sponsored by Writers Guild East at NewFest 2004 in New York City. Dorian Blues won the AUDIENCE AWARD for BEST FIRST FEATURE at OutFest which included a $5,000 cash award sponsored HBO and the AUDIENCE AWARD BEST FEATURE FILM at the Long Island International Film Forum as well as the AUDIENCE AWARD at the Philadelphia Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. Dorian Blues also won a SPECIAL JURY AWARD at the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival and the TORCHLIGHT BEST SCREENPLAY AWARD sponsored by New York University at the Bahamas International Film Festival. Dorian Blues just won its tenth award at the 2005 Out Far! Lesbian and Gay Film Festival AUDIENCE AWARD for BEST GAY FILM in Phoenix Arizona.
The NY Times wrote that throughout the film; “Bardwell’s writing remains acridly clever;” and they concluded by saying that, “Bardwell gently lights a footpath between two ways of living.”
Dorian Blues enjoyed a limited worldwide release and DVD distribution deal.
Writer/Director Tennyson Bardwell’s second feature film The Skeptic, a thriller, stars
Tim Daly ,Tom Arnold ,Zoe Saldana ,Andrea Roth ,Edward Herrmann ,Robert Prosky , andBruce Altman ; and is expected in theaters in 2009.Bardwell is preparing his third feature June Wedding , a Romantic Comedy, filming in late 2008.
Tennyson Bardwell received a BFA in acting and writing from Carnegie-Mellon’s esteemed drama program, where, during his tenure, he won both the Pittsburgh Playhouse Award and the Henry Boetchner award.
He currently lives in New York with his Producer wife, Mary-Beth Taylor and their three young sons.
