South African Department of Safety and Security

The Ministry of Safety and Security is one of the ministries of the South African government. It oversees the South African Police Service. The current Minister of Safety and Security is Nathi Mthethwa, who replaced Charles Nqakula following the resignation of Thabo Mbeki as president in September 2008.
