Hubertus von Amelunxen (born
December 29 1958 ,Bad Hindelang ) is a professor at theCanadian Center for Architecture ,Montreal , and theEuropean Graduate School ,Saas-Fee . He studied Roman, German, and Art History atMarburg andParis and finished his Ph.D. in Roman Studies at theUniversity of Mannheim . Amelunxen authored and published several books focusing on the history and theory of photography.Hubertus von Amelunxen lectured in
Basel and became a Visiting Professor at theUniversity of California, Santa Cruz . From 1995 to 2000 he was a professor at the Muthesius Hochschule for Art and Design inKiel where he founded the Center for Interdisciplinary Project Studies. In 2000 he taught at theUniversity of Düsseldorf and at the Institute for Fine Arts in Antwerpen. Since 2001 he is working as a Senior Curator at theCentre Canadien d‘Architecture in Montréal. In the same year Amelunxen became a faculty member of theEuropean Graduate School and founding director at theInternational School of New Media inLübeck . He curated several international exhibitions, includingTomorrow For Ever – Photographie als Ruine , Krems/Duisburg (2000).Books
