northeastern Ontario , Canada, nearLake Temagami .This park encompasses
Smoothwater Lake ,Makobe Lake , theIshpatina Ridge (highest point in Ontario),Maple Mountain (highest vertical rise in Ontario), and most of theLady Evelyn River . It is well known for its protection of some of the last remaining stands ofold growth forest in Ontario, as well as the two firetowers on top of Ishpatina and Maple Mountain.As a "wilderness" park, there are few services offered to visitors but it is ideal for backcountry canoeing, nature exploration and wildlife viewing.
