With the glacier, the mountain is 1,204 meters above sea level. There are between 150–200 people living in Nuvsvåg all year round. Nuvsvåg's primary industry is fishing. Attempts have been made to start a wolffish-farm, with great success. A lack of funding led to the closure of this business.
