nature reserve , part of theArenal Huetar Norte Conservation Area , in the northern part ofCosta Rica near the small town ofSardinal , Sarapiqui in the province of Heredia. It has been included as part of the proposedMaquenque National Park .The area includes the
Maquenque Lagoon and various surrounding hills, forests consisting partly of wildalmond trees, and two otherlacustrine depressions. Endangered species in the area include theGreat Green Macaw ,Turkey’s Tail ,Ocelot s and theWest Indian Manatee .External links
