CrossCribb

CrossCribb

CrossCribb is a card game created in 1996 by Maynard's, a store located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It uses traditional cribbage scoring, a deck of cards, a custom game board, and score sheets that correspond with the game board.

Variations of the name include

  • Scribbage (kind of like scrabble but cribbage)

The game

  • Played with 2 or 4 persons.
  • Played on a table, custom made board or paper a 5x5 grid is laid out and used to hold one card each.
  • Players alternate placing cards that have been divided (12 each for a 2 player game, 6 each for 4 players) trying to build cribbage hands horizontal or vertical in direction.
  • The middle square contains one card that is flipped by the dealer
  • Each player or team only scores the points made from counting cribbage hands for each row in one predetermined direction (either vertical or horizontal)
  • The winning team scores the difference between the sums from all hands counted
  • First player (or team) to 31 wins the game
