Sood/Sud is a last name of Parmar Kashtrya origin with close ties to the Khatri community in Punjab. The name originated from the district of Sirhind in Punjab. They are now in the Indian states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and other areas of Northern India. Some Soods are there in parts of Afghanistan.
