Kuntz made his Major League Baseball debut with the White Sox on September 1, 1979, had one hit during the 1979 season. Kuntz was a member of theDetroit Tigers team that defeated theSan Diego Padres in the1984 World Series . He appeared in his final game on April 24, 1985.Kuntz has worked in various baseball positions since his retirement, and is (as of April 2008) the first base coach of the
