* "D. polyonychius""Dyslocosaurus" (meaning "hard-to-place lizard") is the name given in 1992 to a
genus ofsauropod dinosaur from the LateJurassic Period. Its fossils were found inNorth America .The
type species , "D. polyonychius", was 'discovered' in a museum, with little information as to where it came from, leading to a rather dubious guess to its exact age. It was originally thought to be from the LateCretaceous Period, but is now thought to be from theJurassic Period, like most diplodocids. The genus name is a reference to this confusion. It was originally thought to be adiplodocid itself but may in fact be atitanosaur .References
