Copenhagen syndrome

Copenhagen syndrome

"Copenhagen Syndrome" is a term purportedly used to describe the phenomenon of people "most oppressed by political Islam" defending "radical Islam". An example would be authors and newspapers showing understanding for religious censure of homosexuals by radical Islam, which would have them killed if ever successful. Copenhagen Syndrome was purportedly used in Europe during the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy and mirrors the term Stockholm syndrome. It is, unlike the latter, not a psychological term, and the exact extent of the currency of this political neologism is unclear.

The term is also used to describe many rich countries tendency to give a large amount of foreign aid while having restrictive immigrant policy. [http://www.opendemocracy.net/globalisation/global_village/poor_people Article from opendemocracy]
