Annacis Island is an island located in Delta,
British Columbia ,Canada . Named in 1827 forHudson's Bay Company Clerk Francois Noel Annance [ [http://www.fortlangley.ca/langley/1afur.html "The Langley Story Illustrated", Don Waite.] ] , the island is now mostly industrial. The island contains one of the Greater Vancouver Regional District'swaste water treatment plants. Juxtaposed amongst the industrial factories, a large rabbit population calls the island home.Fact|date=April 2008The island is accessible by bicycle from either sidewalk of the Alex Fraser bridge to the South. From the North there is a zig-zag sidewalk access to the Hwy 91 bridge- at the West end of Queensborough. The Highway 91 travels through the island and connects it to
Lulu Island to the north and North Delta to the south. The island is the northern landing of theAlex Fraser Bridge , part of Highway 91. The island's name is derived from "Annance's Island," named for François Annance, a
