Teranoid

Teranoid

teranoid is an alias of Japanese BEMANI and hardcore trance artist Kosuke Saito, most widely known as kors k. Under this alias, he produces music in the Nu-Style gabba and UK Hardcore genre. As teranoid, he often works with MC Natsack. kors k will always refer to teranoid as a female, and in the third person. He considers himself as teranoid's closest associate.

The 'teranoid' name

Although teranoid and kors k are both psuedonyms of Kosuke Saito, they are treated as two separate entities. (eg. alter ego) When gigadelic first appeared in beatmaniaIIDX 11 RED, there was much confusion as to the identity of teranoid. The style of music was dissimilar to that of any of the in-house artists of the time, and teranoid remained an enigma for a significant period of time.

Teranoid does not perform sets live (aside from only two performances in America at Tokyo Game Action's BowlMani Fest during the summers of 2006 and 2007). Often teranoid's music is played by DJ TEKKA, with MC Natsack alongside him.

Works

in beatmaniaIIDX

teranoid's works have been featured in Konami's beatmania IIDX game series, and most of the success is a result of the inclusion of "gigadelic" in beatmaniaIIDX 11 RED in 2004. The work is often accompanied by MC Natsack's MCing.

In early 2006, "tripping contact", a "collaboration" with kors k, was included on beatmania IIDX 13 DistorteD. It was also accompanied by a remix of the song by teranoid&MC Natsack.

Commercial Works

teranoid has released four studio albums and one live recording album. All of the albums are a compilation of works by teranoid, and many well known J-Core and Nu-Style Gabba artists. teranoid has also done a remix of J-Pop group AAA's "Virgin F" as part of their "Remix Attack" album. teranoid has also been featured in J-Core albums "Ultra Violet presents COSMO NOVA x HEAVENSWiRE" and "Ultimate A-Style" from HOBiE RECORDS.

teranoid has also released a limited edition CD called "teranoid overground edition for DJ'S ONLY BLACK". This CD shows a change of style for teranoid. Instead of teranoid's signature Nu-Style Gabba, the tracks featured there are of a Happy Hardcore or UK Hardcore style. It also included a remix of Skip to The... by DJ TEKKA and 源屋, which was in the exact same style. Later, it was hinted by JAKAZiD that the songs released on this CD were created by DJ TEKKA and 源屋.

RUSH HOUR II vs. Upsurge

On May 13 2007, Teranoid was present at the large RUSH HOUR II vs. Upsurge event at CLUB CITTA.Performances by Teranoid, REDALiCE, Koja Yukino, Lia, MUNETICA, JAKAZiD, Ryu☆, Kors K, DJ SHIMAMURA, Perfume, LEOPALDON, DJ CHAMP, good-cool and BREMEN under the same roof made this event one of the largest of its kind, and a showcase for the rising stars of the Japanese dance industry. Performances by Koja Yukino and Lia during that event further promoted Teranoid's music.

A DVD commemorating the event has been released on the Japanese Comic Market 72. The DVD is expected to remain on sale during Comiket events for as long as supplies last.

He also appeared at beatnation summit -beatmania IIDX premium Live-, which was also held at CLUB CITTA in August.
