Built in 1974 as the Paris-Sheraton Hotel with 953 rooms, it is the second largest hotel in Paris after the Hôtel Concorde Lafayette which was also built the same year. The hotel came to the hands of the Méridien group in the late 1970s, which was then acquired by Starwood in the early 2000s, the current parent company of the original builders, Sheraton. The building also hosts an important bowling and pool hall.
