Dogbones was a Lithuanian rock band, which existed from 1995 to 1998.
History
Dogbones was formed in Vilnius in 1995 by Sidas, Marksas, and drummer Teo. The trio soon built up an underground following, and became noticed by the local independent label Zona for their energetic and lively punk/grunge sound. This led to their first release, a split-MC with fellow local band Marichuana.
Dogbones performed live throughout Vilnius and in other Lithuanian cities. In 1996, along with Summerland and Lemon Joy, they were nominated as the laureates of a well-known local indie festival Blogiausių grupių festivalis (Festival of worst groups).
Shortly afterwards female singer Giedre joined the band and Mykolas replaced Teo as a drummer. Dogbones began recording their second album, the release of which was delayed by lack of a record label. The album was finally released in 1997 under the name 323. Dogbones took part in the Roko Maršas festival in 1997, but due to a continuing lack of interest from national record companies and radio stations, and also a decline in Lithuanian public interest in alternative rock, Dogbones split up in 1998. Later they were reborn as Dyvai.
