Dealer Inc (Lozz & Switchblade) is a rap duo.
Formed back in 1998, the then unnamed rap duo of MC Lozz and MC Switchblade collaborated together for the first time on the Slim Shady cover, "Hi My Name Is...Will Lynch". An instant success, the tune exploded on the local underground scene and gained them immediate notoriety at their local high school. What had begun out as a verbal assault on one of their least favorite class mates soon blossomed into one of the most productive and innovative collaborations in South London. Mixing study with rhyming proved to be a difficult feat to pull off but the two young MC's managed it, self producing a number of classic rap tracks.
Only a year on from their eponymous debut and the two MC's had formed a trio with the up and coming MC Coco. Aiming to give the people what they wanted, the 3 MC's began producing and recording a number of tracks under the moniker of the "BAMF" (the Bad Ass Mutha Fukaz). Working with each other, the BAMF crew were one of the most prolific musical producers in the South London area at the turn of the millennium. Around the same time, the 3 rappers, along with MC's DC, UBOS, Peg and the ever illusive Prince Prep, formed their own independent record label, 'MaddJoka Records,' giving them the creative control of their music they felt the major studios would be unable to provide them with. It was over the same new years that the name "Dealer Inc" was confirmed as the two MC's hit the studio known only as "The Shed". However, production stalled as both rappers became tied up with solo projects and various other MJ Records offshoot projects, and the album's release date was pushed back to 2004.
As Mc Lozz continued to pursue his solo project and Switchblade began to increasingly concentrate on the production side of things, the outlook for Dealer Inc's first album looked bleak. By 2005 the album was in limbo, with the few finished tracks (such as "Crazy Magic Trip", "Sacks of This, Sacks of That" & "We Don't Take No Sh*t") not numbering enough to comprise a full length LP. Despite much critical acclaim for tracks such as "The End (unfinished)" the album remained incomplete. Work on the album has begun in earnest once more, however, and the album, provisionally entitled "Return of Tha Inc: 2006 Weed Life", is tentatively scheduled for an autumn 2006 release.
