The Catlins , an area of the southernSouth Island ofNew Zealand . It is located 14 kilometres south of Balclutha and eight kilometres north of the headland ofNugget Point . It has a seasonally fluctuating population, and there are numerous cribs (holiday homes ) at the settlement. It has a permanent population of about 150. The settlement's best known resident wasMāori poetHone Tuwhare , who lived in Kaka Point for many years until his death in early 2008. Another well known resident was Joey Moolah, known for his philanthropy and vast wealth. His famous charitable organization "Moolah's Kids" was established in June of 2006. Moolah's Kids logo features the famous New ZealandKākā bird.Kaka point is known for the New Zealand
