David Ganezer

David Ganezer is the publisher of the "Santa Monica Observer" newspaper.

He was a noted attorney in Los Angeles, most famous as a former lawyer who represented John MacKinnon, the plumber who claimed to have seen O. J. Simpson and A. J. Cowlings, driving a Ford Bronco away from the scene of the Bundy Drive murder scene, shortly after midnight on June 12, 1994. Brown and Goldman were found stabbed to death outside Brown's Bundy Drive Brentwood-area condominium in Los Angeles, California.

In 1997, Ganezer represented TV Producer Sy Weintraub in an unsuccessful lawsuit against artist Hiro Yamagata. Weintraub alleged that Yamagata had reneged on a contract to produce art for Weintraub. After a trial in Santa Monica Superior Court, however, the Jury sided with Yamagata.

Ganezer also represented broadcast pilot Bob Tur, in a 1992 copyright opinion entitled Los Angeles News Service v. Frank Tullo; Charles Bickert; Audio Video Reporting Services, 973 F.2d 791 U.S. Court of Appeal for the 9th Circuit. The opinion states that if a broadcast monitoring service records and resells a television newscast, that resale is not necessarily a Fair Use of the broadcast.

Since 1998, Ganezer has published Santa Monica, California's newspaper of record, the "Santa Monica Observer". In 2000, Ganezer resigned from the practice of law, to focus on the "Observer".
