Shatterstarfire is an Amalgam Comics superheroine and member of the X-Patrol. Shatterstarfire is an amalgamation of Starfire from DC Comics and Shatterstar of Marvel Comics. Her first appearance was in "X-Patrol #1", though her metafictional debut was in "Spider-Boy and his Astonishing Friends #37".

Ficional character history

Shatterstarfire is actually Princess Koriand'ru from the subatomic Planet Tamojoran, and is a skilled fighter. Shatterstarfire was ignorant that universes existed beyond her own, until Spider-Boy dropped out of the sky and rescued her from an enemy ambush. To save her life, Spider-Boy brought Shatterstarfire to Earth - something she never forgave him for. She has fought against not only Dr. Doomsday when the X-Patrol invaded Latkovia, but also against Brother Brood, who had almost wiped out the X-Patrol at one point. She is also extremely beautiful.

Shatterstarfire caught the eye of Beastling when the X-Patrol was formed, and Shatterstarfire was very rude to her fellow team-mates at the outset. Over time, her concern to return to Tamojoran has been clouded by her position in the X-Patrol.

According to the letters column of "X-Patrol #1", Shatterstarfire starred alongside the Amalgam Comics equivalent of Wonder Woman in the metafictional "Mighty Amazons #64", and the two struck up a friendship.

After being captured by Brother Brood, Shatterstarfire was telekinetically moved to safety by Niles, and she returned to New York to summon the X-Patrol and rescue Niles Cable. When trying to rescue him, Shatterstarfire was almost killed by Brother Brood, had it not been for help by her fellow teammates in the X-Patrol.

Powers and abilities

Shatterstarfire's alien physiology constantly absorbs ultraviolet radiation and converts it to energy for flight. She has the ability to channel and project that same energy into destructive blasts called "starbolts". She is also capable of assimilating other languages through physical contact with another person. She possesses superhuman strength.

Shatterstarfire possesses an overall superhuman level of physical and mental power (senses, speed, reflexes, agility, dexterity, coordination, balance, endurance). She is an excellent strategist and has had extensive training in many forms of the martial arts; in particular, she is a master swordswoman. Her bones are hollow, making her far lighter than she looks and further increasing her athletic and acrobatic skills. She customarily wields two swords and on occasion carries other weaponry as well. Shatterstarfire is able to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue much faster than an ordinary human. Injuries such as slashes and stabbings heal completely within a matter of hours.

Tamojoran

Tamojoran is the sub-atomic homeworld of X-Patrol's Shatterstarfire. Not content to serve as a puppet ruler, Princess Koriandr’u, heir to the throne of Tamojoran, added her sword and her fire to the rebel cause.

Later betrayed by members of her own rebel band to the evil Gordanian warriors, Koriand'ru was rescued from an ambush by Spider-Boy, who was accidentally shrunk down to sub-atomic size by Dr. Palmer's White Dwarf Star Device, and brought back to Earth.

Tamojoran is the Amalgam Comics fusion of Tamaran, the homeworld of Starfire and Mojoworld, the home planet of Mojo and Shatterstar.
