Edward Cullinan, CBE, (born
17 July 1931 ) is a British architect.Cullinan was educated at
Cambridge University , theArchitectural Association andUC Berkeley before working forDenys Lasdun where he designed the student residences for theUniversity of East Anglia .Cullinan's practice, Edward Cullinan Architects, was founded in 1965. Notable projects include the
Fountains Abbey Visitor Centre (completed 1992), theCentre for Mathematical Sciences (Cambridge) (completed 2003), and theWeald and Downland Gridshell (2002), which was nominated for theStirling Prize .Ted Cullinan is currently a visiting Professor at the
University of Nottingham , and has been awarded four other professorships atThe Bartlett (1978-9),Sheffield University (1985-87),Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1985) andEdinburgh University (1987-90).Edward Cullinan has been awarded the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) 2008 Gold Medal.
Cullainan is married to Rosalind, daughter of Norah and
Victor Maslin Yeates .External links
